Pandemic puppies? Animal shelters, vets overwhelmed with surrendered

The Animal Rescue Committee of Slave Lake is a not for profit group of volunteers whose aim is to work with the town to rescue homeless and abandoned animals in our community and surrounding areas. We wish to provide veterinary treatment to sick or injured animals and temporary foster homes while waiting for responsible permanent homes to be found.

Committee chairperson Dennise McIntyre says that two out of the six animals were cats and the other four were dogs.
